English Youth Theatre returns to the Badhuistheater with a special double bill performance. Coming from Belgium and fresh off their appearance at the FEATS festival in Den Haag, these young actors bring two exciting plays to life: Zero For The Young Dudes! and The Real Lady Macbeth. You're in for a treat!
Zero For The Young Dudes! by Alistair McDowall
When
the threat arrives, stay in line, follow orders, self-censor. Survive.
We’re at camp and there’s revolution in the air, and rebellion on the
ground. In a world where there’s no room for self expression, play by
the rules. Drill. Work. Eat. Repeat. If they can’t control the future,
do they want a future? If you butcher my future, I will massacre your
past.
Zero For The Young Dudes! was originally commissioned for the National Theatre of Great Britain's Connections Festival in 2017. It has been performed by schools and youth theatre all over the UK and across the world.
The cast was selected from 37 auditionees, and specifically chosen for their work ethic, commitment, ability to work in a team and acting ability. Some of the actors are EYT veterans who've gathered lots of experience, and others are in their first year with us but have shown great promise and performance skills!

The Real Lady Macbeth by Stuart Delves
First performed on the Edinburgh Fringe in 1982, the play traces both the truth and lies surrounding the Macbeths.
Fake news is not new.
The characters hurtle through five centuries, playing many roles as they explore history and fable.
Our thanks to Stuart Delves, the author of the play, who has contributed some additional writing to contemporise the script and supported the UK tour.
