Sappho was a native of the island of Lesbos and is one of the most famous of all ancient lyric poets.
She was born around 630 BCE and had a long and eventful life. She sang her poems, accompanying herself on a lyre. Although there is little known of her life, most of what is known is contained in this play. Her words speak of her youth, of love of women for women, and her journey into old age.
Mari Reeves is an actor, teacher and director. She studied acting in New York with Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler.
Moran Even is a talented jazz pianist who is active in the California arts scene.
