Details

Two by Jim Cartwright is a sharp, darkly comic and unexpectedly heartwarming portrait of a Northern pub and the larger-than-life characters who pass through its doors. Bursting with quick wit, biting humour and moments of surprising tenderness, the play balances laugh-out-loud comedy with heart wrenching glimpses beneath the surface. In this vibrant new staging at Mike's Badhuis on 18–20 June 2026, seven actors take on all the roles, bringing Cartwright’s colourful world to life under the direction of Keith F. Day. Originally premiered at the Bolton Octagon Theatre in 1989 before transferring to the Young Vic, Two remains one of Cartwright’s most entertaining and affecting works.
